Not only does LeBron James give buckets, but he also gives back. The LeBron James Family Foundation announced that James and University of Akron are teaming up to sponsor full scholarships for the children who are currently in his I Promise program in Akron, Ohio. The program currently has 1,100 participants between the third and seventh grades.
The students will be able to have their tuition covered by James’ foundation beginning in 2021 if they complete the program and meet attendance and grade requirements.
James said in a statement, “As an African-American kid, you don’t really think past high school because it’s not possible or your family can’t support you. For us to be able to do something like this… it means so much.”
