Nicki Minaj Is VMA's Opening Act

This year’s’ MTV Video Music Awards is looking to be one for the books as it’s been announced that Kanye West will be receiving the Video Vanguard Award, Miley Cyrus will be hosting and now Nicki Minaj will be opening!

Fresh off of her ‘Pinkrpint’ world tour, Minaj is making her way back to the VMA stage for the fourth time. This may come as a surprise to some being there was a little bad blood when Minaj noticed that ‘Anaconda’ was not nominated for Video of the Year nor was her ‘Feelin’ Myself’ collab with Queen Bey nominated in any category.

The leader of the Barbz took her frustrations about MTV to Twitter, prompting Taylor Swift to respond. Swift felt that Nicki’s tweets were aimed at her, leading to a “beef” between the two. Thankfully, it was peacefully settled when Taylor apologized for taking Minaj’s tweets personally.

In addition to Nicki’s performance, artists such as The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams will be hitting the big stage this Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on  MTV.
