Dr. Dre To Donate 'Compton' Royalties

Dr. Dre is showing his hometown love by donating all royalties from his first album in 16 years, Compton: The Soundtrack, to support the funding of a new arts and entertainment facility in Compton, California.

As some may know, Dr. Dre is no stranger to giving back to his community. A few years ago, the hip-hop heavyweight, along with Jimmy Lovine collectively donated $70 million to the University of Southern California to create a new undergraduate program geared toward the arts.

Compton: The Soundtrack is in stores today! Also be sure to catch Straight Outta Compton, the biopic based on Dr. Dre’s days as a member of N.W.A, in theaters next Friday!
