It’s the “new year, new me” time of season. Probably the most make or break part of the year. We’re either reflecting on how the year has gone so right for us or we’re trying to pick up the pieces. No matter which side you’re on, there will always be room for improvement.

Yeah, people say that the “new year, new me” mentality is cliche, but the same thing could be said about having the mindset to start fresh daily thanks to God’s grace. The Word tells us:

"The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning,”  Lamentations 3:22-23

So if they're new today, that means they’re just as new on January 1st. We have the opportunity to forget what has been and begin with a clean slate as often as we are kept on this earth. But... let's clean the slate and keep it that way this time.

For those who may be in a funk because your 2016 needed to be put in rice, take time these next two weeks to reflect and re-position yourself. You’ve been able to see what you don't want for your life, so leave those things behind. It won't happen overnight, but you can pick yourself up piece by piece.

While God’s mercies are new, His grace is also sufficient. When in Christ you are a NEW creation. @@If you're tired of the old, throw it out and make room for the new.@@ You CAN start over.
