Episode 5: Already Taken

Welcome to episode 5 of Zealous Conversations with Taylor Jay! This is a podcast that encourages all listeners to shine the light and the standard as believers in Christ.

Happy Valentine's Day, my loves! Love is definitely in the air this year, but in a way we aren’t used to. On this episode I take a DEEP dive into what love should truly look in our lives. Love is more than a feeling, it’s a lifestyle that is transformational. Not only for us, but for those whom we choose to demonstrate our love to.

The focus of this episode surrounds 1 John 4 and the powerful fact that God is love. I explain how love God’s way is supernatural and cannot be done in any way apart from his Spirit. I look at the characteristics of love in 1 Corinthians 13 and measure them up to who we are as mere humans. I also jump into Ephesians 5:18 and Galatians 5:22 to explain how the Holy Spirit plays a critical role in our quest to love like God.

My win of the week was simple. I shared about how important it has been for me to find a solid community in my new city. It’s such a blessing! Don't forget to share your wins with me by using the tag #ZealConvo. I would love to hear from you so I can shout you out and celebrate on the show!

Episode 4: There is a STANDARD

Welcome to episode 4 of Zealous Conversations with Taylor Jay! This is a podcast that encourages all listeners to shine the light and the standard as believers in Christ.

Happy New Year everyone! I know it’s probably a little late for me to being saying that, but things have a been a whirlwind in the first few weeks. But, with this new year I’m coming for all edges -- including my own. With my theme of ‘change your mindset, change your life,’ the word of the year is accountability.

The focus of this episode surrounds Galatians 5:22-23 and cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. It’s been a burden on my heart to see leaders in ministry portraying righteousness, yet living by contrary actions. In Mark 11:12-14; 20-22, we will see an example of what this can looks like and how Jesus responded. I also touch on James 1:8; 3:1. I hope that as I am growing in this area, that all who listen will be able to receive this message and take an internal look. If we want to spread the Word in an effective way, we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard and protect our witness.

My win of the week was getting my first opportunity to have my very own news story air on television! You can watch it here. Don't forget to share yours with me by using the tag #ZealConvo. I would love to hear from you so I can shout you out and celebrate on the show!

And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast"

Welcome to episode 2 of Zealous Conversations with Taylor Jay! This is a podcast that encourages all listeners to shine the light and the standard as believers in Christ.

This week we're focusing on the Lord's consistency by meditating on Hebrews 13:8 as our verse of the week: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever."

For this week's win, I reflect on how I've been improving on my spending habits which is no small feat! Don't forget to share yours with me by using the tag #ZealConvo. I would love to hear from you so I can shout you out and celebrate on the show!

For the message, we get into the importance of choosing God over the ways of society through 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12-13 and Proverbs 24:16. The world changes daily but our Lord remains the same. Why do you choose to serve Him?

Welcome to the inaugural episode of Zealous Conversations with Taylor Jay! This is a podcast that encourages all listeners to shine the light and the standard as believers in Christ.

In this first episode, I introduce myself to you and *hopefully* convince you to keep coming back. I talk about what inspired me to start this show and how it will flow week to week.

On Zealous Conversations, we will have a verse of the week that we will remember together. This week's is Psalm 37:34, 'wait on the Lord and keep His way and He will exalt you to inherit the land'. We also celebrate our wins of the week! Share yours by tweeting me using the hashtag #ZealConvo and tune in to hear mine!

The word this week comes from 1 Samuel and the story of Saul losing it all because He moved too fast and out of step with God's plan. Sound like something you've been through?
